Institutional accreditation
ºÚÁÏÍø of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, also called ºÚÁÏÍø, is accredited by the (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. ºÚÁÏÍø also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Program accreditation
The Accreditation Review Commission on the Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to ºÚÁÏÍø's Physician Assistant Program sponsored by ºÚÁÏÍø. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
ºÚÁÏÍø Physician Assistant Studies program has been approved to expand the reach of this educational program offering: a distant campus location PA program in Laredo, Texas. Programmatic approval has been granted from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
Graduation from an accredited program is required to sit for the national exam. The ºÚÁÏÍø Master of Physician Assistant Studies program is currently accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on the Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). This accreditation allows graduates to sit for the national licensure examination.
The national licensing exam allows initial professional licensure in any state.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2028. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.
