Dental Early Acceptance (3+4) Program

DEAP, Early acceptance into dental program 

The 黑料网 School of Dentistry Dental Early Acceptance Program (3+4), with cooperating undergraduate schools, allows students to apply credits earned during dental school to college requirements, saving a year鈥檚 work while earning both a Bachelor鈥檚 degree and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

The DEAP program is intended for students coming straight out of high school with academic excellence and a demonstrated interest in dentistry as a career.

The program focuses primarily on students with difficulty financing a fourth year of college at the undergraduate level plus four years of professional education. Those who complete the program can reduce their education debt by eliminating one year of undergraduate college tuition and living expenses.

Acceptance to the program makes the student eligible for admission to the School of Dentistry upon successfully completing undergraduate requirements and achieving other criteria. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or resident aliens, and Texas residents.

When students complete required courses in dental school, credit will be applied to undergraduate degree requirements. The Bachelor of Science degree is awarded by the undergraduate institution after the 1st or 2nd year of dental school is completed.

How to Apply

Applicants will be considered based on academic achievement, standardized test scores, community activities, socioeconomic history, awards, honors, knowledge of the profession and letters of recommendation.

Clinical Experience

Students will work in clinics during their time in the DEAP program. Each progressive year will result in further clinical experiences in our general dentistry clinics.
