School of Dentistry student elected to national leadership position with the American Student Dental Association

The School of Dentistry is pleased to share that Megan Kalpin, a third-year dental student, was elected to serve as the 2025–2026 District 10 Trustee for the (ASDA) during their Annual Session meeting.
As a member of the ASDA Board of Trustees, Kalpin will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the association, advocating for dental students and ensuring the continued success of ASDA’s initiatives.
“With this being the first term after the redrawing of the ASDA Districts, I am so grateful for the opportunity to represent our school, District 10, and ASDA as a whole in such a pivotal year. ASDA has been such a core part of my dental experience, and has rewarded me with invaluable friendships, leadership experience, and life lessons that I will carry with me always. Having the honor of being elected as District 10 Trustee is incredibly humbling and exciting. I can't wait to get to work and see what is in store for the next year,” said Kalpin.
ASDA is a national student-run organization that protects and advances the rights, interests and welfare of dental students. It introduces students to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and provides services, information, education, representation and advocacy. ASDA connects students around the country and provides leadership training to help advance the dental profession by developing exemplary leaders and dentists and inspiring member advocacy.
Nancy R. Honeycutt, CAE, the executive director of ASDA, stated that they value strong student leadership and is honored to have Kalpin representing both the organization and the School of Dentistry at the national level.
