Faculty advancements in the School of Dentistry Office of the Dean

The School of Dentistry is proud to announce the advancements of three esteemed faculty members, each taking on new leadership roles within the Office of the Dean, made effective March 1. These appointments reflect the school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, student success and faculty development.
Dana English, EdD, MS, RDH, has been appointed as assistant dean for education innovation and faculty development. In this expanded role, English will advance the school’s educational strategies and implement innovative teaching practices, building upon her extensive experience in academic leadership.
“Stepping into this role is both an honor and a responsibility — to champion innovation that enriches learning and to support faculty in shaping the future of dental education, together,” shared English.
, will assume the position of associate dean for academic, faculty and student affairs. Having previously served as assistant dean for students, Seitz brings valuable experience in student support and academic leadership. In her new role, she will oversee student progress, academic advising, career planning and the broader academic mission of the School of Dentistry.
"To be able to work at my alma mater in serving the faculty and students, as well as being able to work side by side with them every day, gives me great joy. It's a privilege to contribute to the community that shaped my journey," stated Seitz.
, will take on the role of assistant dean of admissions. Since 2022, Lemke has led the school’s admissions team as director of admissions, excelling in identifying and recruiting high-achieving students. Her leadership has ensured excellence in the DDS program and her advancement recognizes her continued dedication to the school’s academic mission.
“As a graduate of School of Dentistry, it’s an honor to be able to give back by helping to shape the next generation of dentists in Texas. It’s a privilege to be part of this institution which is dedicated to shaping the future of dentistry through excellence in education and patient care. There’s no way I could do this job without the support of our terrific faculty, students and staff — they are the ones creating a positive and welcoming environment for prospective students. I am excited for the opportunities ahead and grateful for the support of my colleagues and mentors,” shared Lemke.
