Dental Student Receives Pulp Biology and Regeneration Award at IADR

The , a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing dental, oral and craniofacial research worldwide, recently granted two Pulp Biology and Regeneration Group student travel awards. These awards are the culmination of a committee review process that judged the candidate abstracts based on rigor, originality and overall impact.

We are proud to announce that Josue De Jesus Murillo, a 4th-year DDS/PhD student at the 黑料网 School of Dentistry has emerged as one of the recipients. Josue received a a travel award of $1,000 for his outstanding presentation titled "Evaluation of MIF Mediating hSCAP Analgesia in Orofacial Pain".

Josue's research, conducted under the guidance of , associate professor and advanced program director, Department of Endodontics, focuses on finding new approaches to address persistent dental pain. His dissertation specifically focuses on uncovering direct mechanisms mediating stem cell analgesia in a model of infection-induced pain, specifically apical periodontitis. 

Dr. Nikita Ruparel, speaking on Josue's achievement, said, "Josue truly deserves this prestigious award. He delivered a thorough and clear presentation of his work which is a reflection of his sincerity and hard work throughout his training period. Josh is an outstanding student and a pleasure for a mentor to train.鈥
