About Me

I was born in Brownsville, Texas, though I spent 8 years in Clinton Township, Michigan before moving back to Brownsville in my high school sophomore year. My experience working in Medical Billing drove me to pursue medicine in a more meaningful way, leading me to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Psychology from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Now, in STX-MSTP I plan to learn as much as I can while finding my own niche in the field. I love art and love expressing myself through various mediums. I’m very blessed to have my own little yard here is San Antonio where I’m slowly building my perfect garden!

Traditional and Digital Art, Gardening, Piano, Reading, Movies and TV shows, Video Games, Tennis, Ice Skating

Why I chose MD/PhD

I chose the MD/PhD path because as I prepared for medical school, I realized that clinical and research work is inextricably intertwined. Once I was exposed to research, I fell in love with it and knew my ideal future would include both clinical and research settings.

Why I chose MD/PhD at ºÚÁÏÍø

For me, ºÚÁÏÍø was the perfect school. It has close ties to Mays Cancer center, ensuring robust research in my field of interest. It’s near my family still in Brownsville. Then, what sealed the deal for me was the close and supportive community and culture of the school.
